At the start of a new year, many people make resolutions and set ambitious plans ... but country superstar Carrie Underwood is beginning 2017 with very little on her plate.

Underwood spoke with Ryan Seacrest for E! News on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday (Jan. 8), and when asked about her plans for this year, she said, “I think I’m gonna enjoy a little time with my family, and then start writing, maybe, and just seeing what I’m ready to do."

"I don’t know," the singer adds. "There’s no real plans" -- except for cleaning her house, that is.

"There's always stuff to do. I feel like my house is a wreck, so I'm like, I've got to get this in order," Underwood explains. "Being home off the road, every time we go home for a little short 24-, 48-hour stint, I just drop stuff off and leave again. And now I'm trying to make sense of life."

Underwood certainly has been busy: In 2016, she hit the road for her Storyteller Tour ... and then she extended the trek. The "Dirty Laundry" singer also co-headlined a tour with Keith Urban in Australia and New Zealand; it was the first time she'd ever performed there.

Although her life will be markedly less busy in 2017, Underwood will still be in the public eye a bit: She served as a presenter at the 2017 Golden Globes, is nominated for two trophies at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards and received a Grammys nod for Best Country Solo Performance.
