Broome Reports Second Coronavirus Death, Positive Cases in Surrounding Counties
Broome County reports a second death from the coronavirus. Officials say a woman in her 90s died at Lourdes Hospital.
There are nine cases of COVID-19 with 106 tests pending results. 72 people are in mandatory quarantine with 96 in precautionary quarantine.
Tioga County reports two positive test results with 68 pending. The Health Department says 67 people are in mandatory quarantine for being within 6 feet contact with an infected person but are not displaying symptoms or who have recently been to one of the countries with outbreaks and are displaying symptoms. Eight are in precautionary quarantine
Chenango County at last count had three confirmed cases.
Delaware County reported four positive cases with only 19 tests pending. Four people are in mandatory isolation and six in mandatory quarantine. One person is in precautionary quarantine.
All regional county health officials are urging people to follow social distancing guidelines and stay home except for necessary trips like to get groceries, go to doctor appointments, pick up food or go to the pharmacy.
