Broome Inmate Sentenced in Escape Attempt at Lourdes
A Broome County Jail inmate has more time in jail after admitting he tried to escape custody while being treated at Lourdes Hospital.
The Broome County District Attorney’s Office says 47-year-old Michael Pavlisak of Binghamton was taken to the hospital for a pre-existing medical condition on January 28, 2021.

Prosecutors say, while at the hospital, Pavlisak struggled with the Corrections Officer and unsuccessfully tried to grab the officer’s gun.
Pavlisak was subdued by the officer and security staff at Lourdes Hospital.
He’s been sentenced to 3 years in state prison along with five-years post-release supervision.
