At least 101 Broome County residents now have died due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

According to the county government website on Monday, the official local coronavirus death toll rose above 100.

County executive Jason Garnar announced that a woman in her 60s and a man in his 90s were the two latest deaths.

Broome County's first COVID-19 case was announced on St. Patrick's Day. The county's first confirmed death due to the coronavirus was confirmed by Garnar on March 21.

As of Monday afternoon, the county reported 374 active COVID-19 cases. 46 Broome coronavirus patients were reported hospitalized.
