How are your photo skills? I don't consider myself anywhere near the talents of a professional photographer, but then again I don't need to. Although I think that I do a good job taking amateur pictures.

These days, with all the current technology designed into cameras and even phones with cameras, it's kind of hard to mess up a picture. That works in my favor, although I still have issues focusing depending on the lighting around me.

No matter what your photo skills are, or are not, Broome County Parks and Recreation has announced a Spring photo contest you may be interested in. You have now through June 21st (Tuesday), to submit your photo.

The Broome County Parks & Recreation is looking for people to submit a nature photo from the parks in the county including Otsiningo Park, Nathaniel Cole Park, Dorchester Park, Aqua Terra Wilderness Area, Greenwood Park, Grippen Park, and Roundtop.

The photo contest is open to all ages and the photo categories include nature's colors and wildlife or insects. Your photo needs to be clearly focused on the categories you choose and can be in black and white or color. There is a limit of one submission per person.

One winner will be chosen from each category by the BC Parks & Rec staff, announced on Monday, June 27th. BC Park swag and a shelter rental or campsite will be awarded to the winning photographer in each category.

So what are you waiting for? Show off your nature photography. Get complete information at the Go Broome County website.
