Broome County Fair Turns 150 and It’s Got Its Own Official Song!
Did you know that the Broome County Fair is turning 150 years old this year? They are and they are marking the occasion with their very own official song. The best part is that it was written by two people who know and LOVE this area as much as we do. Thank you, Bill and Joanne Rogers of Conklin
A Labor of Love
When they were asked to write and produce the song, the Rogers jumped at the chance. and even offered to do it all for free. They wanted this to be a gift to the community that they’ve called home for decades.
Who Are the Rogers?
If the names sound familiar, it should. Bill and Joanne Rogers are the duo behind the nationally aired American Outdoors TV show and the regional White’s Farm Report. Between their work, music, and raising nine kids here in Broome County, they’ve earned their local legend status.
The Song Will Be Everywhere
You’ll be hearing the song soon and throughout Fair Week itself. It’s the soundtrack to this unforgettable celebration, and I think you're gonna love. It will be available soon to stream or download for free, which makes it easy to get into the fair spirit early!
Why the Song Matters
“This fair means a lot to our family, it’s part of our history,” said Bill. “We wanted the song to reflect everything the fair stands for: community, farming, family memories, and local pride.” Fair organizers agree and say the song hits all the right notes (pun totally intended).
Mark Your Calendars
This year’s Broome County Fair should be one for the books. Running from Tuesday, July 22nd through Sunday, July 27th, it’ll have free entertainment, live shows, local showcases, and good old-fashioned fun.
