New Yorkers Say They Want a Black Angus Steakhouse
If you’ve ever wished a certain restaurant or store would finally open in New York, you’re not alone. A new survey by MarketBeat asked more than 3,000 people what brands they wish their state had, and for New Yorkers, the answer was Black Angus Steakhouse topped the list.
Why Black Angus Is So Wanted
Black Angus Steakhouse is a Western style restaurant known for its flame grilled steaks and laid-back atmosphere. You’ll find them in California, Arizona, and New Mexico, but there aren't any in New York.
A Taste of the Midwest: Meijer
Coming in second on the wish list was Meijer, a Midwest supercenter chain that’s part grocery store, part department store. People who’ve lived in Michigan or Ohio say they miss it the most.

You can do all your shopping in one trip groceries, clothes, home goods, even electronics which is something New York shoppers don’t really have outside of big box stores. For families with busy schedules, a Meijer could make life a lot easier.
Texans in New York Miss H-E-B
In third place, New Yorkers said they’d love to see H-E-B, the Texas-based grocery store known for its friendly service, local products, and low prices. Anyone who’s lived in Texas knows H-E-B is more than just a store it’s part of the culture. New York transplants say it’s one of the things they miss most about home, especially for its fresh produce and cult-favorite snacks.
What New Yorkers Really Want
It’s no surprise that New Yorkers want something new. A Black Angus Steakhouse would bring a bit of the West to the East Coast, while Meijer and H-E-B would change the local shopping scene.
Maybe someday, these vacation cravings will turn into a new neighborhood favorite here in the Empire State. Go here to see what other states crave as their most wanted national chain.
