Red Cross volunteer, David Ruston heads south March 10 to provide Disaster Mental Health services to victims of last weekend’s tornadoes that killed at least 23 people.

The Red Cross says there were more tornado deaths March 3 than in all of last year and total number of people missing is still unknown.

The Red Cross is working with officials and partners in the area to help assess damage and assist people impacted by the disaster.  A shelter has been opened and the agency expects to deploy emergency response vehicles, and provide food, support services, supplies and assist in individual recovery.

People can help the effort by donating at redcross.org, texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a ten dollar donation or call 1-800- RED CROSS for information.
