Authorities say Brice was arrested on Christmas Eve following an investigation into the discovery of money missing from the elderly victim.

Officials say from September to December, Brice is believed to have gained access to the man’s bank accounts and credit cards, using the credit cards to buy items and transfer cash.  She then allegedly paid off the balances with the man’s checking account, having the bank statements sent electronically to an email address so it wouldn’t be discovered by family members or other care givers.

As part of the scheme, Sheriff’s officials say Brice is accused of writing herself a check for $8,000, forging the 92-year-old’s signature and applying for several credit cards using the man’s identity.

All told, Brice is accused of taking $21,040.97.

She’s been ordered to appear in Town of Fenton Court at a later date.
