Look Inside the Upstate New York Home of Yankees Legend Billy Martin
If you ask any Yankees fan if they know the name Billy Martin, the answer is almost always yes. But if you ask a Yankees fan from the Southern Tier, the answer might come with a smile and a story. For some, Billy Martin wasn’t just a Yankees legend, he was also the man who lived right down the road.
A Manager Unlike Any Other
Billy Martin’s name is woven into Yankees history in a way few can match. He managed the New York Yankees five different times, a fact that still surprises fans when they hear it. Martin wasn’t just a manager though.
According to a Bronx Pinstripes article, he played on five World Series champion teams, once earned the title of World Series MVP, and lived a baseball life surrounded by legends. He roomed with Joe DiMaggio, was Casey Stengel’s favorite, and counted Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford among his closest friends.
A Home Fit for Baseball Royalty
When Martin wasn’t making headlines in New York, he was enjoying life at his retreat in Port Crane. His former home there is nothing short of stunning.

Set on nearly 85 acres, the property includes a private seven-acre lake and 2,500 feet of water frontage. The house itself is just over 5,000 square feet, boasting four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and a master suite that alone measures 1,600 square feet. It’s the kind of place you’d expect from someone who lived life big, both on and off the field.
