The Broome County Department of Public Works will hold a face to face information meeting with the general public Next Monday July 20th at 6pm at the Children’s Home Galloway Building at 1182 Chenango Street Binghamton.

The first  session for comments from the public without Zoom or online formats since the start of COVID-19 in March, will discuss the federally funded  Chenango Street Pedestrian Project currently in its design phase.

The project is designed to remove sidewalks on the west side of Chenango street and install new sidewalks on the east side of Chenango street from Mead Road to Cornish avenue.

The sidewalks will meet with the requirements of the Americans with disabilities act, with wider walkways, curbs, and improved pavement markings.

The project also aims at restoring driveways and their adjacent lawn areas.

The public is invited, social distancing protocols will be in place, and masks will be provided.

Representatives from The Broome County Department of Public Works will be on hand to answer questions and explain the specifics of the project.

Construction is scheduled for the summer of 2022
