‘Frozen’s Cast Isn’t Just Returning to Theaters This Year, They’re Also Getting New Dolls
This November, the princesses from Arendelle and their little snowman friend will return to theaters in a new animated short playing in front of Pixar’s Coco. Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will follow the quirky beach-loving snowman as he helps his friends Elsa and Anna celebrate the holiday season in Arendelle since the princesses reunited. Frozen has been such a smash success for Disney that it’s considered its own brand within the Disney Princesses world, and with the release of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure in November, Hasbro intends to make sure your kids have plenty of newly costumed Elsas, Annas, Olafs, and Kristoffs.

I Could Watch This All Day: ‘Civil War’ Gets Remade Inside Fallout 4
Once in a great while, a truly terrific fan recreation of a big time movie trailer arrives and shakes the pillars of Heaven. It's a rare feat these days, as there's a lot of people vying for that viral smash hit to break through. I've been there, and made more than a few with friends. There are a lot more clever people than me out in the world though, and they're able to make things like this latest Captain America: Civil War trailer.
With the help of some mods and some good capture software, the folks at UpisNotJump have brought The Commonwealth wastelands a whole mess of heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe filtered through Fallout 4's lens. This is far from the first video game version of a Marvel trailer that we've seen, but the execution from remixed costumes to the lip syncing is so on point in this video, it's hard not to appreciate the efforts that went into crafting such a well-made work.
Toy Fair 2016: Meet Mattel’s Suicide Squad
Though you would have thought a great deal of Mattel's Toy Fair event would have been focused on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which to be fair it was, there were actually more new figures on hand from August's Suicide Squad film. Many of the Dawn of Justice figures have already hit retail, but the upcoming villain-led film made a surprise showing, and Mattel revealed almost the entire team this weekend.
Interestingly enough, there was no Suicide Squad branding on any of the new figures. Where DC Collectibles and other specialty lines can get away with putting the word "suicide" on the box, it's a tougher sell for mass market figures that will show up in Target and Walmart. The Suicide Squad will fit in with the DC Multiverse line, offering 6" versions of the team in the branding you're already seeing for characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman for Dawn of Justice, and Flash and Green Arrow from their respective TV shows. Where those media properties get the film/show logo slapped on the side of the box, it'll be interesting to see what Mattel puts on these packages to indicate just where these guys came from.
DC Collectibles New Movie Line Uses 3D Sculpting to Bring Silver Screen Characters to Life
To this point, DC Collectibles has been reticent to deliver action figures based on the movie properties Warner Bros. produces based on the DC Comics library. There have been statues and replicas galore, but few actual action figures from DC's in-house collectibles team have been of the cinematic oeuvre. With the DC Cinematic Universe kicking into high gear this year, it's time for the DC Films Premium line to make its debut.
The first figures for the line will include a mash-up of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice characters, all set to arrive in September. Armored Batman and Superman will represent BVS, with Zod, Faora and Jor-El coming from MoS. Now, I know there probably weren't too many people banging at the gates, begging for more Russel Crowe Jor-El figures, but at least his Kryptonian armor makes him a bit more interesting than any potential Kevin Costner Pa Kent would ever be. That's not a big factor in Jor-El's favor, but the guy's gotta take pluses where he can.
Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man Immortalized in New Action Figure (Not To Ant Scale)
Following suit with many of Marvel's other major movie properties, Ant-Man will soon be available in action figure form.
