An Open Letter to Spring Breakers Upset Over the Coronavirus

To all the kids upset over the coronavirus messing up your spring break. We understand you're disappointed. But the world outside your self absorbed bubble is upset too.

Bar and restaurant owners are upset they have to close their doors, lay off employees and may not be able to ever reopen.

Families are upset they may not be able to put food on the table or keep a roof over their heads without a paycheck.

The elderly are upset they can't see their families for fear of catching something their bodies can't fight off.

Hospital employees are upset they may not be able to keep up with the spread due to lack of beds and equipment.

You may not care if you get COVID-19. But your carelessness is what's spreading the virus across the nation.

So the sooner you practice social distancing to stop the spread, the sooner bars and restaurants can open, families can return to work to pay their bills, the elderly can see their loved ones and you can go back to playing on the beach while drinking away the last few brains cells you may have left.
