Twin Tiers Honor Flight Mobilizes To Aid Flood Victims in Asheville, NC
The Twin Tiers Honor Flight, a Southern Tier non-profit charitable organization dedicated to recognizing the valor and sacrifices of America's veterans, is extending its mission to provide critical assistance to flood-stricken communities.
As part of the nationwide Honor Flight Network, which arranges trips for veterans to visit and reflect at national memorials in Washington, D.C. at zero cost to the veterans, the Twin Tiers Honor Flight is amplifying its commitment to serve those in need.
The Twin Tiers Honor Flight has mobilized its efforts to aid flood victims in Asheville, North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Honor Flight hub, based in Asheville, has reached out for urgent assistance and the Twin Tiers Honor Flight has responded with a call to action, announcing the collection of essential supplies to support those affected in Asheville and surrounding communities.
Twin Tiers Honor Flight will be gathering donations on Sunday, October 6, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the American Legion Post 1645 on Robinson Street in Binghamton during its 10th Anniversary Open House to which the entire Southern Tier is welcome.
The focus will be on collecting a wide array of crucial items, including trash bags, powdered sports drinks, hydration packs, baby wipes, diapers for both children and adults, baby formula, plastic utensils and plates, manual hand openers, towels, non-perishable foods, plastic sheeting/tarps, toiletries, pet food for dogs and cats, hygiene products, flashlights, blankets, and various children's activities like card games and puzzles. Additionally, Twin Tiers Honor Flight seeks to collect brand-new socks of all sizes as well as brand-new plastic baby bottles.
