on Saturday (March 28) President Trump tweeted that he was considering a quarantine of New York, due to the high volume of positive coronavirus cases.

"I am giving consideration to a QUARANTINE of developing “hot spots”, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. A decision will be made, one way or another, shortly." President Donald Trump via Twitter

Even though New York, specifically New York City, has been called the epicenter of the epicenter, Governor Cuomo believes that a quarantine would cripple the economy, according to CNN. The coronavirus has already affected the economy with 3.28 million unemployment claims for the week that ended March 21.

Governor Cuomo has stated that he would sue the state of Rhode Island, if it doesn't stop its policy of stopping cars with New York plates. At the time this article was written, New York has more than 52,000 cases of COVID-19.
