Are you the type of employee that works longer than most? Do you find yourself taking work calls while at the dinner table?

Well, there is a new Bill that would make it illegal for your employer to contact outside of your normal work hours.

The Bill, which is being proposed in New York City. It would illegal for private companies that employ more than 10 people to force employees to answer phone calls, texts, or emails related to work..

The bill would exclude workers who are on call 24 hours a day and would include expectations for emergencies.

If the bill is passed, your employer could still contact you, but would not be able to reprimand you if you ignore those calls.
