It was an incredibly sad Sunday for the country music community as 90's country legend Joe Diffie passed away at the age of 61 due to complications from the COVID-19 virus.

Everyone knows his big hits, such as "Pickup Man", "John Deere Green" and "Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox," but here are five singles that are overlooked that are worth a listen:

  • 1

    "Tougher Than Nails"

This was Joe's last top 20 hit. Peaked at #15 on the Mediabase country radio chart in 2004.

  • 2

    "In Another World"

This was Joe's final top 10 hit from early 2002. Peaked at #10. I think this one is so underrated -- Diffie's vocals are great here.

  • 3

    "The Quittin' Kind"

This song reached the top 20 for Joe in 1999 but it was never as big a hit as his 90's stuff. A hidden gem.

  • 4

    "In My Own Backyard"

"In My Own Backyard" was released in the middle of Diffie's prime (1994). It only reached the top 20 and was forgotten by other big hits. Still a great song.

  • 5

"If I Could Only Bring You Back"

This was Joe's final charting single from late 2004. It only reached #50 but make no mistake, this is a great song. Take a listen.
