If you've never seen the award winning country duo Montgomery Gentry live, you are in for a treat at this year's Toyota Country Lights Festival, July 22nd at NYSEG Stadium in downtown Binghamton.  Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry always put on a rockin' party that will fill the stadium with an energetic set of hit sons like: 'Hell Yeah,'  'Where I Come From,' 'Something To Be Proud Of,' 'My Town,'  and many more.

Here are some fun facts on Montgomery Gentry:

  • Eddie and Troy got their start playing in Kentucky based bands called Early Tymz and Young Country, with Eddie’s younger brother John Michael Montgomery.
  • When they started out together they went by the name 'Duece,' later changed to Montgomery Gentry in 1999 when they released their debut single 'Hillbilly Shoes.'
  • Montgomery Gentry lists southern rockers as it's greatest influences including The Allman Brothers Band, Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  In fact, they have collaborated with the Allman Brothers and Charlie Daniels on a few projects over the years.
  • You would think that Eddie Montgomery and John Michael Montgomery would have played a show or two together over the years.  To date, this has never happened surprisingly.
