
Southern Tier Lyme Support Celebrates 10 Years with 2025 Lyme Conference
Over the past decade, Southern Tier Lyme Support Inc. has made significant strides in raising awareness about Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, and on Saturday, May 17, the organization will mark its 10th anniversary with the 2025 Lyme Conference at Tioga Downs Casino Resort.
This event, running from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be filled with insightful information, stories, and community connections. Attendees will enjoy a buffet dinner, live music, and lectures from renowned experts in the field of tick-borne diseases.
Guest Speakers Share Their Knowledge
To celebrate the milestone, the conference will feature a series of guest speakers, including Yetrib Hathout, Ph.D., Director of the Tick-Borne Disease Research Center at Binghamton University, and Amanda Roome, Ph.D., Associate Director of the same center.
Attendees will also hear from Dr. Henry Lindner, Dr. Ronald Stram, and Dr. Richard Horowitz, who will present virtually. Holly Ahern, MS, MT(ASCP), Associate Professor of Biology/Microbiology, will join the lineup, sharing her expertise in tick-borne diseases.
A Celebration of Community and Support
The event will not only focus on education but also celebrate the community built over the past decade. A buffet dinner with gluten-free options will be available, along with a cash bar offering wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, and a refreshing lime mocktail. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Rose and Thorne will provide music, creating a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to connect and enjoy the evening.
Raffles and Vendors for a Good Cause
Throughout the event, guests can participate in raffles, including a 50/50 raffle, and explore various vendors showcasing products and services.
All proceeds from the event and raffles will benefit Southern Tier Lyme Support, which has been dedicated to raising awareness and providing education and support for those impacted by Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
Continuing Support Through Lyme Disease Meetings
For those unable to attend the conference, Lyme Disease Meetings hosted by Southern Tier Lyme Support are always open to the public. These meetings offer ongoing support and a space for individuals to share their experiences.
The Southern Tier Lyme Support group meets regularly at the Town of Chenango Building in Binghamton, providing vital support for individuals affected by Lyme disease.
