The 2019 Grammy Awards are just days away, and country music will play an unusually large role in the ceremony.

The 2019 Grammy Awards nominees were announced on Dec. 7, 2018, and country artists were recognized in some of the mainstream all-genre categories, including Album, Record and Song of the Year. Several of country music's most important acts are slated to perform at the Grammys this year, as well, including Dolly Parton, who will also be the subject of an all-star tribute.

Who

The women of country music are leading the charge in the 2019 Grammy Awards nominations, with Kacey Musgraves and Maren Morris both nominated in mainstream all-genre categories, while Brandi Carlile is the most-nominated female in the awards show overall. Morris is up for Record and Song of the Year for "The Middle," her collaboration with Zedd and Grey, along with several country categories. Musgraves' Golden Hour is nominated for Album of the Year, as is Carlile's latest album, By the Way, I Forgive You. Carlile's song "The Joke" is also nominated in the mainstream Record and Song of the Year categories, and Margo Price is vying for Best New Artist in 2019.

Morris, Musgraves and Carlile are all slated to perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards as well, along with Little Big Town, Miley Cyrus and Dan + Shay. In addition to those country artists, Grammy winners Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Post Malone for a special performance, and H.E.R will also take the stage to perform, along with Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes and Janelle Monáe. Little Big Town, Morris, Musgraves and Katy Perry will take part in a tribute to MusiCares Person of the Year Dolly Parton, who will also take the stage to perform music from the soundtrack to the recent Netflix film Dumplin'. It marks her first Grammys performance since 2001.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS at 8PM ET on Sunday, Feb. 10. The pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony will stream online at Grammy.com and CBS.com beginning at 3:30PM ET. Pre-show red carpet coverage will also stream live on Grammy.com and air on CBS.
