YouTube announced a new subscription service yesterday. It's called YouTube Red, and it lets you watch videos without the ads for $10 a month. The best part though, is that the service is free for the first month!

You can also save videos for later, watch them on your phone or tablet without an Internet connection, and play a song on YouTube in the background while you use another app.

You also get full access to Google Play Music, which is their version of Spotify. Or, if you already subscribe to it, you get YouTube Red for free.

And you can access a new service they're launching soon called YouTube Music. It's not clear what it'll look like yet. The press release just says it's "designed to make discovering, watching, and listening to music easier than ever."

And next year they'll start offering original content, including a show with PewDiePie, and a scripted comedy from the Fine Brothers called "Sing It!" that makes fun of shows like "The Voice". So, we all have that to look forward to.

It launches next Wednesday at YouTube.com/Red.
