I’m all about utilizing social media to its fullest extent and after dragging my feet on joining the bandwagon, I’m slowly falling in love with Twitter (hit me up @djtracitaylor), but this could quite possibly be the perfect example of taking love of social media a little too far.

It’s been said that you can say everything you need to say in 140 characters.  I agree and I disagree.  Most of the time less is more, but I differ on that when it comes to love.  When it comes to love and oh, I don’t know- asking someone to marry you- sometimes more is better. I think.

Curt Buthman proposed to girlfriend Marsha Collier and he did it in 140 characters on Twitter.  No my friends, I couldn't make this up.  Actually I could, but if you know me- you know I wouldn't because I take asking for someone's hand in marriage for the rest of forever very seriously.  I'm not a throw it out there and shrug your shoulders and say "sure, whatever" kinda girl.

Apparently Marsha was in the middle of a Twitter chat about customer service when Curt interrupted the conversation by tweeting “@marshacollier I love you! #WillYouMarryMe custserv.”  Curt also linked to a six-second video (that’s it down there below) in which he displayed the ring.  Marsha responded by tweeting, “Um, uh, YES @curtbuthman - I will MARRY YOU! #custserv.”

When I first learned about the Twitter proposal I was like "whaaaaaat?!?"  I found it completely unromantic and tacky.  I still do a little bit, but "whatever floats your boat" they say.

BUT!  Ha! There's always a but, isn't there?

While I wish Curt and Marsha a lifetime of love and bliss, I'm secretly hoping they kick it up a couple notches and chronicle their lives for us via Twitter.  They've brought us into their lives this far and I don't know about you, but I don't love to have something dangled in front of my face only to be left hanging.
