One of my friends in the business shared this with me and I was FLABBERGASTED! You spend a lot of money on your wedding. Recently, this venue has found a way to charge you even more money... By being horrible at what they do! Let me explain. In a report by The New York Post, The Union Street Guest House in Hudson, New York now fines couples $500 for EVERY NEGATIVE REVIEW posted on any website by the couple or any of their guests.

Long story short. They have enabled themselves to provide as little great service as possible. See, They already have your money for your reception. If they do a half ended job and your displeased you have no outlet to warn others of your misfortune. Let's say you and 3 guests leave negative reviews about different issues. They will now charge $2,000.00 to the credit card you had to use to place the security deposit!

That, friends is not yet the end of the story! If you or some of your guests are staying there do to room availability but your wedding is at another venue the same rule applies! The Union Street Guest House has a yelp page chock full of 1 star reviews and their website has this policy posted:

"Please know that despite the fact that wedding couples love Hudson and our inn, your friends and families may not.

If you have booked the Inn for a wedding or other type of event anywhere in the region and given us a deposit of any kind for guests to stay at USGH there will be a $500 fine that will be deducted from your deposit for every negative review of USGH placed on any internet site by anyone in your party and/or attending your wedding or event. If you stay here to attend a wedding anywhere in the area and leave us a negative review on any internet site you agree to a $500 fine for each negative review."

All of the reviews are for terrible service. Is this hotel and wedding venue using intimidation instead of correcting their policies to meet their guests' needs?
