For all of my life, I've had grandiose goals and dreams. Most have come and gone, but one that's stayed with me is the dream to one day own my own coffee shop called "Evo."  "Evo" is an inside joke between me and my best friend.  One of those "you had to be there" things.

Anyway, I love coffee and I love books and I've always wanted to open a little corner coffee shop where moms could stop  in for a cup of caffeine while their little ones played in the kiddie area and where they could put their feet up and relax in another area complete with a lending library.

Most women buy shoes or purses.  I buy books.  By the banana box full.  Next to coffee, books are my biggest addiction. I've got several thousand and my home isn't big enough for all of them so they're sitting sadly in boxes in my basement.  I can almost hear them whimpering to be let out. I figure since I've got so many books and since I don't want to give them away, the best thing to do with them would be to create a lending library.

I was talking to my mom about my coffee shop dream tonight and she offered up some incredibly wise words that really made me think:

"A goal without a plan is just a wish."
~Traci's Mom, July 7, 2013

I'd never thought of it that way before, but Mom is right.  It's nice to have goals, but they mean absolutely nothing if there isn't a plan.

Whether you're a goal setter, dreamer or wisher, I bet what my Mom said is going to make you think!
