Woman Tries to Hire Hitman on Craigslist

KRCG

Seriously! How dense does a person have to be to do something like this?

An Iowa woman was looking for a hitman, so she decided to do what every stable minded person would do.  She posted an ad on Craigslist, of course.

In the listing that was posted this last Saturday, 23-year-old Megan Schmidt allegedly offered $10,000 for an undisclosed job. Interested callers were then told upfront it was a murder-for-hire.

Police obviously heard about Megan’s scheme- it wasn’t like she was exactly discreet- and an undercover cop responded to the ad. He was told she was looking to have her father killed. The cop met with Schmidt on Sunday and made sure she was serious before cuffing her.

Authorities are still investigating Megan’s motives.
