I have two wonderful cats that I adopted from Animal Care Council, the shelter that works very hard to help protect and place unwanted cats and dogs in our community.

The Animal Care Council will once again hold their popular wine tasting benefit on Friday, November 8th from 5:30 to 9pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 126 Main Street, Johnson City.

The Annual Wine Tasting is ACC's largest fundraiser and brings together a nice variety of Finger Lake Wineries, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind finds and donations from local businesses, as well as door prizes and other giveaways.  All the proceeds from the benefit go to support Animal Care Council's operations.

The Animal Care Council is a local, almost 100% volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission to reduce the population of unwanted animals through an aggressive, low cost spay/neuter program, rescue homeless animals and provide shelter for them, and adopt out to good homes.  ACC has a public shelter at 131 Washington Avenue, Endicott, as well as a network of foster homes for cats and dogs.

The organization's annual expenses are approximately $200,000, and funded entirely by fundraisers, contributions, and nominal fees for services.

Tickets for the wine tasting are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.  Tickets are available at the ACC shelter on Washington Avenue, Endicott, also at Vestal Wine and Liquor, Health Beat, Johnson City, Kathy's Grooming, 95 Bavier Street, Binghamton and A Frame Shoppe, 320 Water Street, Binghamton.

Come out for a fun evening of wine sampling and help the homeless animals in our community.
