We all use smart phones, and other devices thaqt do not hold a chare worth anything, and we end up tied to a cable that replenishes the power the devices run on. We need a viable replacement for the cable. Imagine a world where you phone decides when to charge itself from out of thin air? How about when it hooks up to your home or work wireless router? Yes. I't's closer that you think.

A recent report in Wired explained how some smart people in an electronics lab equipped a bunch of devices with sensors to take WiFi signals from a router and turn them into DC power.

Now, the Federal Communications Commission's limit of one watt power output is going to have serious effects for wireless routers that want to charge devices. For example, a phone charger is  around five watts and a laptop chargercould be 45-60 watts, so the FCC would have to change their regulation for this technology to actually work.

If any of you have followed the inventions and theories of Nikoli Tesla, you already know that power is all around us at all times in various wattage. someone needs to put these sensors in a phone or device that will pick up the power all around us and use it to charge. That would be incredible!
