Have you seen the list that ranks 366 cities, both large and small in the United States from the most American to the least American?

The list was created based on how a city's demographics, income, housing, and education compare to the entire United States. U.S. The most American city is Nashville, Tennessee and the LEAST American is McAllen, Texas, which is at the very southern tip of Texas.

So where did Binghamton and the cities around us place?

Out of 366 cities, Binghamton ranked #165- which means that while we're close to being in the middle of the rankings, we lean a bit toward the "most American" side of things. Yay for us!

Syracuse ranked really well, coming in at #39 (remember, the smaller the number, the "more American"). Utica took the #161 spot while Elmira came in #321.

I think the one that surprised me the most was Ithaca- the city that always seems to win these types of studies as being one of the best places to live, work and be educated was ranked #356 out of the 366 cities which isn't super wonderful for them.
