If you've been a country music fan for a while, chances are you've always wanted to visit Nashville and no doubt on your list of things to do is a visit to the Mother Church of Country Music, the world famous Grand Ole Opry.  If you've been lucky enough to catch a show there, I'm sure it was a memorable experience.

I remember my first time there as a little boy.  There was something awesome about being in the audience and seeing all these legends and current country stars sharing the stage.  It truly was a magical moment I would never forget.  Years later when I worked at the Hawk, I was honored with backstage access where I was a guest enjoying the stage from a side view and actually wandering around backstage where my favorite legends, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell and Johnny Cash would tune their guitars and get ready to go on stage.  It was quite a feeling walking around back there and seeing dressing rooms and all.

It was a feeling even greater for the country duo headlining our Toyota Country Lights Festival July 22nd, Montgomery Gentry.  They just finished the last few notes of one of their hits when Eddie and Troy got the surprise of a lifetime.  Legendary country superstar Charlie Daniels came out of the audience yelling: "Hey!  Hey!  Hang on a minute!"  Montgomery Gentry were officially inducted in to the Grand Ole Opry that night and here's the video to prove it...

Montgomery Gentry headline the Hawk's Taste of Country Music Festival, Friday July 22nd at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton.  Early bird tickets are available at the NYSEG Stadium Box Office and at CountryLightsFestival.com.  Find out more about Reserved Grandstand seats, field tickets and VIP tickets HERE.
