It is almost here. The Toyota Country Lights Festival happening at NYSEG Stadium on Friday, July 22nd. For the past month or so, Glenn's Nashville News (GNN) has been spotlighting the performers that are taking part in it.

Today is no exception. On today's GNN, we'll take a look at our headliner, Montgomery Gentry. Just like us, they've had their ups and downs. I believe that is one of the reasons that they relate to us so much.

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry used to play together along with Eddie's brother. You may have heard of him, John Micheal Montgomery. Gentry left for a solo career. After he was unable to secure a deal. Eddie and Troy got back together and Montgomery Gentry was formed in 1999.

Success came fast when they won Favorite New Artist - Country in 1999 and Country Duo of the Year in 2000.  I liked that on their early albums, they would have an Allman Brothers song on it.

They've gone through trials as well. In GNN, see what's happened in Eddie's life that will make him all the more real to us.
