Some of my favorite movies include "Apple Dumpling Gang", "Red Dawn" (the first one), and "Police Academy" (once again, the first one not the 25 that followed.)

I didn't realize that my love for these kind of movies actually meant that I'm smart. Well it's true...at least according to this study done by the New York Film Academy.

They say that watching "bad" or "trash" movies because they are bad is linked to high intelligence. They say that we like the movie because the production, dialogue and plot isn't very good.

That would explain why I like the movie "Blow Out" starring John Travolta. I should have known how "bad" it was when my date and I were the only one's in the theater. The funniest parts of the movie, aren't intended to be funny.

I always thought the reason she never went out with me again was because of that movie but now I know it's because my intelligence intimidated her...At least that's what I tell myself.

Okay, I admit that I didn't watch these movies because it was bad but now I know why I liked them so much. I want my daughter, Tara to be smart too, so I'm going to encourage her to watch "bad" movies.

No, I won't let her watch Blow Out. Some of the content isn't for 11 years old.....maybe me either.

However, we've already watched the "Apple Dumpling Gang" together and she loved it. See, she is intelligent.
