I love that Binghamton is a big enough city, but still small at the time time. I love that it's close to New York City, Syracuse and Buffalo. I love that I can hop in my car and be sitting in a cottage at a lake in less than 15 minutes.
I love that Binghamton is surrounded by waterways and mountains. I love that our streets are lined with flowering trees. I love that we have some really nice parks and walking trails.

We've got art galleries, the Sens and Mets, museums and even a zoo. And we can't forget that we've got an airport that might not be the biggest in the country, but that gets us where we need to go.

It's true that our city needs some cleaning up, but what city doesn't? Really, when you stop to think about all that we have to do and see here in Binghamton, it really is a great place.

Orientation begins today at Binghamton University for new students. If you could tell them what you love most about the Southern Tier, what would you say? What would you tell someone who's moving to the area for the first time? What are the little gems that our city holds?
