The West Corners Fire Department traveled to Albany on Saturday to participate in the Hero Rush. What's the Hero Rush Hero Rush is a course created by firefighters for firefighters and gives firefighters the chance to put their mettle to the test. They run an intense 3-5 mile race with multiple fire-related obstacles. They climb ladders and slide down poles, crawl through windows and break down doors, scramble through HAZMAT slime and locate trapped victims.

There's even a “343″ wave, which is dedicated to the firefighters lost on 9/11. Each runner wears a commemorative racer’s bib showing the name of one of these fallen heroes. Proceeds are donated entirely to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

So, how did West Corners do?  Take a look for yourself!
