Businessman Adam Weitsman says after more than a decade, he's ready to do another project in downtown Binghamton.

Weitsman, who owns Owego-based Upstate Shredding, says he has become the majority owner of what is now Parlor City Pub at 15 Hawley Street.

In a Facebook post, Weitsman said he intends to convert the place into a sports bar which will be called "On the Deck."

Weitsman was unavailable Monday to discuss his plans but in his online announcement, he indicated construction and a "complete ground up renovation" of the property would start soon.

Weitsman's post said the sports bar should be open "by the first of the year." He said the outside deck will be covered and heated so it can be used during colder weather.

Joshua Pouch, who had been a partner in Parlor City Pub, confirmed that he has sold his interest in the business.

Parlor City Pub opened at the Hawley Street site about a year ago, a few months after Zona & Co. Grille suddenly closed its doors.
