Hats off to all who helped raise money for Wendy's Walk for Kids this past Summer.  Thanks to you, a record $250,000 was raised from last Summer's walk.

Since its inception in 2009, the Wendy’s Walk for Kids has donated over $965,000 to local charities. The Walk itself has shown tremendous growth, from 150 walkers in 2009 to over 900 walkers in 2014. While the walk, at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open, is the signature event of the organization, year-round fundraisers such as the Binghamton Senators Charity Golf Classic, area restaurant nights, game nights with the Binghamton Mets and much more, are the additional efforts that helped raise the substantial $250,000 being distributed to this year’s charities.

A number of local charities will benefit from the cash raised, including the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, ACHIEVE, the Jewish Community Center and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

Good news for next year's walk as the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, the Kopernik Observatory in Vestal, Our Space at Recreation Park, among others.
