If I said that one of the most loved restaurant chains in the Southeast was going to start to deliver, you and almost every red-blooded American, would be calling for their favorite breakfast to meet them at work at 9am. Unfortunately, that is not what they mean.

Waffle House is branching out into the delivery business! Kind of like UPS or FedEX, competitor delivery business!  They're teaming up with a new company called Roadie, who created an app that's like Uber, but for shipping. So, basically anyone with a vehicle can make extra cash by delivering packages.

Waffle House's will serve as home base for the drivers, and anyone who's working a delivery shift can pop in and get a free drink.  And people who are shipping packages can drop them off at the Waffle Houses.

Waffle house franchise owners have not sunk a dime into the Roadie app either. They have just partnered to help the growth of the new app.  Waffle house seems like a great place to plop the app startup, why? well, even the CEO says, "If you live in the South, you can't throw a dead cat without hitting a Waffle House."

But they're planning to expand nationwide later this year.  It'll cost between $8 and $200 for shipping, depending on the size of the package you are shipping and how far it has to go. So you may see Roadie partnerships here soon. My guess would be at Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts. Those two chains are "within a stones throw" from anywhere in the Southern Tier!
