Halloween has come and gone. You've done the haunted houses and the corn mazes. Your looking for something else to do today. How about going to the zoo? Here's the best part. It's only gonna be a buck.....and I'm not talking deer.

Today (11/2) is Visitor Appreciation Day at Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. It's their way of saying thanks for a wonderful 2013 season. It's only a dollar admission but wait there's more. When you leave you can take home a Binghamton Zoo gift on the way out, while supplies last.

They are open their regular business hours. If you didn't know it's 10-4...ok, I asked too. The last ticket will be sold at 3pm.

I talked to Rachel, the Special Events and Media Relations Assistant, yesterday and she told me that it was because of a successful Facebook campaign, that they could do this for a dollar today (11/2). So congrats to all of you that made it possible and keep up the good work.

They will continue to open up on weekends in November from 10-4 (weather permitting). They are also have a program called "Baby Biologists" on the weekends, check it out here.

Because of the great response, they will lower the admission rate to 1/2 price for the month of November. So stop at America's 5th Zoo one more time (even two or three times) before it's closed for the season. Celebrate their 138th season and to see everything that is going on at the Zoo, go here.
