Tyler Farr is hard at work on his third studio album, and at a recent show in New York, the country singer gave fans a hint of what's to come from the release.

On Friday night (Aug. 19), Farr debuted a brand new song tentatively titled "I Kinda Like the Rain." According to the Boot, Farr wrote the songs six weeks ago. He premiered it while on Brad Paisley's Life Amplified Tour in Darien, N.Y. at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.

The slowed ballad showcases Farr's impressive vocal ability, while his live band gave the song an extra boost with soaring guitar features. Watch Farr perform it for the first time in the video above.

In a recent interview, Farr revealed that he is working with Jason Aldean on his next album which is the follow-up to 2015's Suffer in Peace. While talking with Taste of Country at Country Jam earlier this summer, he said working with his friend has been difficult.

“He … he’s kind of an ass,” Farr jokes. “We’re good friends, and how you can tell if you have really good friends is if you give each other crap. And he dishes out quite a bit. It’s been good though.”

Farr also revealed to Taste of Country that Aldean actually approached him with the idea to produce the follow-up to Suffer in Peace. They’ve already got a few songs cut, but Farr wouldn't share any details on the specific songs.

“He has been pretty hard on me,” he says. “It hurts.”
