WBNG reports that there will be two less Binghamton Weis Markers in which to shop later this summer.

The stores closing are the Main Street, Binghamton location and the Harry L. Drive, Johnson City location. The two stores have a combined 79 full and part time employees who will be offered jobs at other Weis stores in the area.

In a statement issued on behalf of Weis Markets, Dennis Curtin, Director of Public Relations stated: “We have already informed our store’s associates about this decision and have told them we will be offering them employment in one of our other stores in the region. We are committed to our remaining stores in Broome County and will continue to invest in our stores in the region as evidenced by the upcoming remodel of our Front Street store in Binghamton. We would like to thank our loyal customers and look forward to serving them at one of our many other locations in the area.”
