My in-laws came to visit from Philly and with them, they brought a banana box filled with delicious fresh produce for me and my family. Among the goodies packed into the box were two pounds of fresh green beans.

I was feeling adventurous, so instead of steaming the fresh beans like I generally do, I decided to dig around for an easy to make recipe and that's when I found Trisha Yearwood's 'Tom Cruise' Green Beans. Say what? Tom Cruise? I was instantly curious and decided to give the recipe a try and couldn't believe how easy they were to cook and how delicious they tasted.

Ingredients:

2 pounds fresh green beans, remove the tips
4 tablespoons of melted butter
Salt

Optional: rosemary, oregano

Directions:
Trim, wash and drain the beans.

Put one cup water in a medium saucepan and add the beans. Cook on medium heat until the beans are tender but still very crisp- about 6 minutes.

Drain the beans and then toss with the butter and salt. You can also add a bit of fresh rosemary and oregano during the cooking process for a little extra pizaz- this is what I did.

And if you're wondering why Trisha calls these 'Tom Cruise' Green Beans, she says it's because the chef who introduced her to the recipe looks just like Tom Cruise. Who'd have thought the answer would be as simple as that?!?
