The long awaited Back to the Future Day finally came and went.  Here's some of what went down.

1. As promised, Nike made self-tying shoes a reality yesterday.  They sent a pair to Michael J. Fox, along with a letter saying the sneakers are being released next spring to help raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research. Which is epic and awesome in my book!

2. Michael J. Fox was scheduled as a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live"  last night, but when Jimmy was talking about Back to the Future Day in the middle of his monologue, the stage went dark, lights flashed, some fog came in, and a DeLorean rolled out.

And when the doors opened, he stepped out as Marty McFly, along with Christopher Lloyd dressed as Doc Brown.

There was a long standing ovation, and a lot of jokes with Jimmy about how the "future" wasn't as great as they thought it would be.  And they all took a selfie together.

It seemed like Christopher Lloyd was a little out of it, like he may have been slurring or forgetting his lines.  But they were out there for a pretty long sketch and the man is in his late 70s now.  He just turned 77 today!

They also had Huey Lewis in the audience, to do his cameo from the first movie.  And he was with the band to sing them out going into the break:

3. The Back to the Future cast reunited on the Today show.  And they were asked what line fans say to them the most.

Christopher Lloyd said:  "Roads?  Where we're going, we don't need roads."

Lea Thompson answered, "You're my density."

And for Michael J. Fox it was:  "McFly, you Irish bug." Watch it at 3:16 in:

4. Brian Kilmeade from Fox News got locked inside a DeLorean while Huey Lewis looked on.  When he finally did get the door open, he banged his head on it getting out.

5. USA Today is publishing a mock front page today, to match one from October 22nd, 2015 that appeared in the movie.

6. One of the movie's writers says Biff in Back to the Future Part 2  actually was based on Donald Trump!

7. For Back to the Future Day, the Chicago Cubs celebrated by blowing the movie's prediction and losing their last shot at making it to the World Series.  The Mets finished them off, 8-3, in Game 4 of the National League Championship.
