During the 59th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 12), several of the multi-genre music event’s biggest moments also happened to feature some of country music’s brightest stars. Throughout the three-and-a-half-hour telecast, big wins and performances from artists such as Sturgill Simpson, Maren Morris and Little Big Town, country music had its share of big moments on Music’s Biggest Night.

With so many wins and great performances, it’s hard to choose the best from Sunday night's ceremony, but the five below definitely stand out among the night’s most important moments.

Lori McKenna Wins for "Humble and Kind"

When taking home the 2017 Grammy Awards Best Country Song trophy for Tim McGraw’s 2016 smash hit “Humble & Kind,” songwriter McKenna was visibly emotional as she told the story behind the deeply personal song: “I just sat at my dining room table and wrote a song for my kids one day,” said McKenna as she accepted her Grammys honor. “And Tim McGraw made a moment out of this tiny, simple prayer that I wrote.”

Maren Morris Gets a Surprise Win

In the ridiculously stacked Best Country Solo Performance category at the 2017 Grammy Awards, newcomer Morris was up against Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Brandy Clark and Carrie Underwood ... which is exactly why her win, for “My Church,” came as such a surprise. Morris may not have taken home the trophy for Best Country Album, nor the all-genre Best New Artist honor, but it was still a big night for the Texas-born up and comer.
