We've had predictions of rain for many weeks now.  What I find interesting is it could rain in Johnson City and not in Vestal.  Or on part of Airport Road but not up by the airport.  While we look forward to the rain to water our gardens and cool things off, it just doesn't seem to happen this summer.  But there is a whole lot of summer to go in the Southern Tier.

After a very hot Country Lights Festival Friday, it got me to thinking, what is there to do in when it's hot and humid in the Southern Tier.  So I went around and asked Hawk listeners what they do when it's hot and humid and here are the top 10 answers I received:

  1. Find a friend with a swimming pool
  2. Go shopping at the mall
  3. Drink water
  4. Go swimming or boating at a local park or just find "the water"
  5. Drink (other!)
  6. Eat ice cream
  7. Soak up the AC and game or watch Netflix
  8. Go hiking in the woods
  9. Go to a concert
  10. Run through a sprinkler with your kids

Incidentally, the forecast is calling a continued hot and humid at least through the weekend.  Stay cool and don't forget to keep your pets hydrated and inside where it's cool whenever possible.
