Is your child interested in taking up golf? I have good news, there is a league in the Southern Tier for children from 6-18 years old. They can be a beginner, expert; boy or girl.

They can participate even if they've never picked up a golf club before. It's a golf league in the Southern Tier called USGLL.

Tonight (3/18) is Evaluation Night. Even if you can't make it tonight, you can still get them on a team. You have until next Friday the 25th to sign up. They need time to process the shirts and hats. You can register here.

Evaluation is at the Legends Year Round Golf Facility from 5-8pm. It's recommended that your child attend so they get a chance to meet you and see how your child does swinging and hitting a few balls.

This is NOT a three hour evaluation, it only takes a little of your time, but this is the window to be evaluated. This helps in forming the teams for the upcoming league.

USGLL is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing national team competition for young golfers. It's a Match Team Play format.

Players get instruction in the etiquette and rules of golf, learn mutual respect and teamwork and develop important social skills.

They will learn life lessons about honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. They all support and encourage each other even if they aren't on the same team.

They will learn the rules of golf and get professional instruction once a week. Devon played for many years and still helps out today. Tara played one year too.

They are moving the regular season USGLL and the National Championship to Vestal Hills Country Club. In keeping to the mission of the YGA and USGLL, the prices are extremely low for this chance for your child to play and learn to play golf.

Lessons will be Sundays at Vestal Hills and league play will be on Mondays at Vestal Hills. This was an awarding experience for my son, Devon. He meet kids from all over the country including California.

He's learned not only golf etiquette but life etiquette. Even though he has aged out, he still goes to the National Championship to help out.

It's an inexpensive golf experience that will last them....and you....a lifetime. To find out more about USGLL and the YGA, go here.
