Toby Keith takes over the HAWK this weekend.  Toby shares 'Rise Up' Sunday morning  6-8am with Jon Ritter and Sunday night 7-10pm he's our in-studio co-host for Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton.  You can hear both of these shows on 98.1 The Hawk and on your smart phone or tablet with the free HAWK app RadioPup.

Next Friday, Toby releases his 18th studio album, 35 MPH Town.  Toby co-hosts the Countdown and updates us on his music, his tour, his friends, and his family.

As part of the album release, Toby did a concert in his hometown of Norman OK that will air on TBS during the World Series. "Our old general store was called Hollywood Corner, it had a lot of history.  James Garner pumped gas there, Bonnie & Clyde stayed there. I bought it and had it renovated, and we shot a Neighborhood Sessions there.  We did it out back behind this place.  Then they donated money to my children's OK Kid's Corral."  The special airs October 16th on TBS.

Toby has some exciting family news.  His daughter Krystal Keith, is expecting a baby girl this month. "She's very excited to be a mother, have her first baby, she wants to get this done so she can start writing music again.  She loves being around that."

Toby's son Stelen is away at his first year of college.  So the question is Stelen playing football this year?  Toby will talk about that, life with his wife and what it's like to have the house to themselves.  I'm sure lots of HAWK listeners will be able to relate.

Toby just appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.  He & Stephen have a friendship that goes back a few years. Another guest on The Late Show that night with Toby was Vice President Biden.  Lon asks if they met: "We didn't.  There was so much Secret Service, he wasn't there until the last minute.  Biden just pulled up, came in, did the couch, did his spiel, went back out, got in the car and left.  In order to see him, you had to stand by the stage.  He had a great piece though.  The interview was touching.  He's had a lot of grief."

Toby also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Chris Janson, Thomas Rhett, and Eric Church.
