When I was growing up, my family always had turkey for Christmas Eve dinner and then we had a beef roast for Christmas day. In my husband's family, they had ham for both meals. When we got married, we came up with a compromise that made up both happy. And so, we have turkey for Christmas Eve and ham for Christmas day.

Even though Tim McGraw grew up in Louisiana and his wife, Faith Hill, grew up in Mississippi, their food tradition for Christmas Eve definitely sounds more Brooklyn than southern.

Tim has said many times that for Christmas Eve, he and his family always have homemade pasta, and that having it is a tradition he grew up with. Tim's mom's maiden name is D'Agostino, so the pasta tradition  comes from an Italian family on her side.

The tradition carried over from when Tim was a kid into adulthood and now into his family with Faith. They have a huge pasta dinner ever Christmas Eve and then they wake up Christmas morning and make eggs with spaghetti sauce.
