Several media outlets including USA Today report that three people have died due to a drive-by shooting following a basketball game at a Rochester Boys and Girls Club on Wednesday night.

Rochester Police Chief Ciminelli told WHEC that there's still a lot of information to dig through to get to the bottom of what happened, but what police do know is that a car drove by and at least one or more persons in the car fired shots into the crowd that had gathered after a basketball game at the Boy and Girls Club.

Ciminelli went on to say that to the knowledge of authorities, there wasn't a problem at the Boys and Girls Club or at the basketball game. He confirmed that seven people were shot and three of them lost their lives.

Ciminelli has assured residents of Rochester that the police force is "bringing every resource" they have at their disposal to this case and that they "will run this down and find out who did this."  He calls this an "outrageous act" and stressed that the force intends to "find out who did it and bring them to justice..."
