According to police reports upon arrival on the scene troopers observed Carrie Martini, age 45, lying on the ground outside the front door of the residence.  Police say Martini was deceased with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso.

After speaking with neighbors police believe Martini had been arguing with an ex-boyfriend, William Rowen, age 60 from Lake Ariel.  Their relationship had recently ended and Martini began dating 61 year-old Dale Thomas who was also at the residence.

Police attempted to make contact with anyone inside the residence but were unable to do so.  The Pennsylvania State Police Emergency Response Team was activated and was able to gain entrance into the residence.  Once inside police found the deceased bodies of the two men.

In the course of the investigation police say the ex-boyfriend (Rowen) came to the residence in the evening and confronted Martini and her new boyfriend (Thomas).  Rowen shot and killed both and then shot himself to commit suicide.
