The Top 10 Stories of 2013 That Caught Your Attention
2013 has been quite a year, hasn’t it? While I enjoyed this year, I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for us. I wish that we all fall into good health, lasting friendships and lots of money to pay our bills! Before we fast forward into next year, how about we take a look at some of the biggest stories 98.1 The Hawk shared with you in 2013?

10. SWAT In Endicott
On October 11th, a SWAT team descended on Endicott/Endwell causing everyone to ask what in the world was going on. One of our Hawk listeners caught some of the action on video.
In October, we received word that William Michael Hurtubise of Bainbridge had been arrested and thrown in jail in India on September 18th and that his family was frantic for help in getting him released. Since then, the family has been mum on what’s going on, but the story is interesting all the same.
In November, we got a note from Hawk listener Julie Wesser-Steacy who shared her story of how a complete stranger, an earth angel, changed her day in the most awesome of ways.
In August, when a Hawk listener called to tell us she was getting married and looking for the perfect first dance song, we knew we needed to put together a list of the Top 25 Country Wedding Songs for the First Dance. And so we did!
Apparently there were lots of moms and dads wanting to know how to hook their kids up with the big guy himself because a whole lot of people checked out this article on how their little ones could call Santa at Christmastime.
It’s been five years since Bethanie Dougherty of Broome County went missing and there are still as many questions today as the day she went missing. What happened to Bethanie? No matter how deep we’ve dug, we don’t know the answer. But someone does.
In April we let out a big sigh of relief and then passed along the news to you that a missing 14 year old boy from Horseheads had been found safe after an extensive search for him. And by the way, a lot of people on Facebook are posting that Devon is missing. Feel free to spread the word that he’s not.
In May, we told you about an insane new way police are cracking down on speeders and to say it’ll have you thinking twice would be an understatement! Mind = blown.
If Halloween and haunted houses aren’t scary enough, one attraction in Pennsylvania toyed with the idea of opening their haunted house to naked people. That’s right. A naked haunted house. Um, gross.
During the preschool graduation at a church in Mississippi, a four year old eloquently recited the books of the Bible’s New Testament. He then followed with a surprise. A surprise involving Gerorge Strait. See that surprise here.
