I'm the queen of tear spillage. I don't know what it is, but whenever I hear or see something that grabs my heart, I cry. And sometimes, I feel the tears come on in the worst situations- like when I'm in an important client meeting or giving a serious speech ion front of a crowd of people.

If you've got a sensitive heart like I do and have found yourself in tears in situations where it's not exactly "professional" to cry, you can stop the waterworks before they start.

According to science, this trick has been proven to literally stop you from crying when you start to feel the tears coming. Believe it or not, the solution is as simple as pinching the skin between your thumb and pointer finger. Yep, that's it.

Keep this in mind though, if you just gently squeeze, it's not going to work. You need to give yourself a good pinch until it actually hurts. Crying is a something that happens involuntary, and when you pinch the skin between your fingers super hard, it actually distracts your muscles and causes a mental distraction, which stops the tears.

Just make sure you don't pinch so hard that you hurt yourself!
